 Hidden Special Abilities
Should your players special abilities be hidden from your opposition and only known by you? Knowing this information can help you plan your lineup against a team. Would trading be affected? The Manager has always been a game of open information. Does a change like this alter that philosophy?

 MVP Awards
Brian Beerman - May 10th 2018 18:15

I agree - no need to make a change to the MVP code. (See David King's for more details)

David King - May 9th 2018 11:37

The first few MVPs are the best. Most teams can normally expect two in a season whether by design or accident.

The latter rewards are 25k. Cash is always nice to get but the teams winning these MVPs are probably doing pretty we!l all round.

At season end and into pre-seas.......................

Jon,

I get what you are saying and i agree that better teams do get more incentives (extra gate receipts from bonuses too) but i don't think the MVP's need to be touched. Plus i would imagine it would be a complete nightmare to code what you suggest.

Bill Ramsay - May 8th 2018 7:59
I think that the sliding scale of rewards for MVPs takes care of this balance alongside league status. By MVP number 4 the reward is average. If you have such a poor team that you cannot achieve an MVP in the league you are in then relegation and rebuilding should allow you this chance next season. .......................

What Is The Manager?
The Manager is an Online, Multiplayer Football Management Game. It's a community of leagues and managers, just like you, putting their football management talent to the test against other likeminded individuals.
How Much Does It Cost?
The Manager is FREE to play and needs no software installed on your PC. You can play the game using an internet browser (Chrome and Firefox preferred) to enter lineups, propose transfer offers and enter auction bids to buy players online.
How Are The Games Run?
A custom simulator, inspired by the classic Olmec match simulator (by Allan Sellers), is used to process all the matches in the Manager. It creates an abundance statistics and information to help a manager decide what his teams best formation may be, or best team tactic to use. In The Manager the 'behind the scenes' calculations are upfront for you to study along side the statistics to help you make your next move.
When Do The Games Run?
Matches take place on a Friday and Saturday evening with the occasional Tuesday match to fill the midweek with excitement. The Manager endeavours to operate two full seasons per calendar year with only a short wait between each season.
The Manager Cup
The Manager Cup is an open competition encompassing all leagues in The Manager game system. The winner of the Manager Cup is the true champion of champions. To win this you must beat the best of the best and conquer all.
Do I Need To Install Any Software?
Absolultey Not! The Manager is a completely online experience. Everything from bidding in auctions, submitting lineups, match reporting, journalling and blogging is all carried out through the games website interface. This also allows you to manage your team on the move through the use of a smart device or tablet. While there is no mobile application to play the game, the website operates on mobile devices.
How Do I Join?
Coaches who sign up will be added to the waiting list and we will start looking for a team for you. League schedules run concurrently and while openings may appear throughout the season it is more likely to receive resignations from coaches during the offseason. When you sign up interest we ask for a few details, but do ask you to give us a valid e-mail address so we are able to make contact with you about available teams. (We do not share your e-mail address with anyone outside of The Manager).
